I used to be really good about photos. I used to print out the ones I liked best. Some went into an album, some were turned into beautiful scrapbook pages. Of these, some were turned into a slideshow and were posted on a Web site for family and friends to see.
Not so much this year. Since the arrival of baby #2, we'll just say I've fallen behind.
Yesterday was Nick's last Tiny Tot class and I wanted to take a picture, but the memory card in our camera was full. It was time to finally tackle all these photos that had gotten so out of control!
Around 5:00 yesterday, if you'd peeked inside my house, you would have seen me running between three rooms. Dinner was going on the stove, the camera was downloading photos onto the computer in the computer room, and the boys were playing (with a pack of overnight diapers) in their bedroom. I think that counts as a work out!
What I ended up with and hour later was this:
I burned about five CDs yesterday, with the pics from the camera plus some that were on the computer. The other three CDs had been sitting on the desk. But what I also used to do is make our CDs look pretty, like this:
So, to continue the tackle today, my goal is to get SOME of these CDs finished, like the ones in the pic above. What I've also realized is now that our camera takes much larger-sized photos, these 700MB disks just aren't going to cut it! I have a feeling that a future project will involve burning these images to DVDs, should we actually join the 21st century and buy a DVD burner. One step at a time...I'll post photos later if I can.

I'm so impressed, that's a lot of work! I tried to do that a couple months ago and gave up after the third cd.
And I love that you make the cds and the cases look nice, that's so cool! Thanks for sharing!
That's awesome!! We are realizing why our computer has been running so slowly lately is because we have 8 years of photos on the hard drive (although neatly organized into chronological folders and backed up on an external hard drive as well...). Might be time for some CD's for us too!
And no prob about the meme-- we moms are lucky if we can remember 'real life' stuff from day to day, let alone this blog stuff. :)
Woo hoo! Awesone tackle!

OOHHHHH I SO need to do this tackle...my pictures are all still stored on my computer. I have 4 years worth of pictures. If my computer ever crashes you'll have to put me in a straight jacket...I will lose my mind. I have no excuse as I have a Cd and a DVD burner now. I just need to DO it! Thanks for the inspiration!
Wow, that is something I really need to do.

Impressive! I love the CD labels and case covers!
Great tackle. The CD covers are really nice. Good Job.
i love the covers! those are so cute. I have started putting mine in digital books.. www.blurb.com they work well, especially if you're in a hurry1
Somwhow I think a box of CD's is better than a box of loose photos. Not sure why
Good for you! I have not printed any of my digital photos for any of my kiddos. Gasp! I need to add that to my list. Great tackle.
Great job. You do not want to lose those precious pictures!
