The awesome adventures of two roadtrippin' Mommies

I loves me a good road trip. There's something about seeing the road pass beneath you, the scenery and weather changing as you make progress toward a completely different place. New sights, new people, new adventures.

Kat and I left on Friday afternoon for Nashville. Not only did we have a good trip planned, but the destination was awesome as well.

Blissdom '08. Were you there?

No? Dude, you missed out.

Sixty GREAT women in the funky Pink Slip bar at the Hotel Preston. Intimate panels led by bloggin' Mamas I admire, who shared what are normally deep, dark, bloggy secrets. Many good tidbits were learned. Laughs were had. Friendships were forged. Drinks (and dinner) were consumed.

Oh, and did I mention we also got a live performance from an up-and-coming singer/song-writer who was just on Jimmy Kimmel Live? Ya. We did. I have an autographed poster hanging in my office to prove it.

The event was sponsored by Epson. Oh, Epson. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee for the breakfast, the lunch, the dinner you provided. My soul did mend over Blisstinis and good adult conversation. For the ends of my sanity had been reached.

Let's not forget One 2 One Network and their serious rockage in planning the event and providing us with some serious SWAG.

Word on the street, yo, is that BlissfullyD is planning another event in February.

Alli? Karla? I'm RSVPing now.

THANK YOU ALL FOR SUCH A GREAT TIME!

Pics of our trip -

1) We left Chicago on Friday afternoon. I was working there for the day.
2) Kat and I in Indiannapolis. We particularly liked the car wash with the funky, strobing neon lights - you can see it over my shoulder.
3) Skyline of Louisville, KY.
4) Me, in the fuzzy red elevator.
5) One of the first panels of the day.
6) The Hotel Preston's decorator seems to have an obsession with boobies.
This "art" is in the lobby.
7) More ta-tas. Made of crayons.
8) Jessie Baylin performing.
9) Blisstinis. MMMMM.
10) Mishelle, chatting at dinner.

11) Heather and Jennifer posing purty.
12) There is some WEIRD SHEE-ITE on the roads in Kentucky. That is a SECOND truck bed on top of the first, held down with two C-clamps. (*snort* - get it? a double bed?!?) Ten seconds after we passed this truck, we passed a full-sized school bus. Towing a car. (Oh, and the Weiner Mobile in Indiana. And we found BFE. Its just off I-65. Now you know.)
13) A cool lookin' bridge outside of Indiannapolis.
14) Sunset, Sunday evening in Milwaukee.

Sounds like you had a great time - but I don't have a clue what you are talking about - either it's 'cos I'm a foreigner or that you're talking too fast!

I'm totally jealous of all of the fun stuff you get to do, being a serious blogger! Maybe I should step it up, just so I can attend cool conferences (or take a trip to BFE, just for fun).

Hoping to be less anti social at the next Blissdom gathering...this momma was too tired to put together coherent sentences and approach strangers!
