Its all about me

Maria wrote a post a few weeks ago where she offered to "interview" folks if they left her a comment asking her to do so. And it sort of became this meme, and branched out from there. When Maggie posted her interview, I asked her to ask me some questions.

1. What is your favorite season, and what do you love most about it?
Sitting in my warm house while its -11F outside right now I'd have to say summer. I love playing out in the yard with my boys, taking trips to the lake or pool and the longer hours of sunlight. We have a great grill and cook on it almost every day. There's nothing better than sitting on our front porch at night with a couple of beers, just enjoying the warm breeze coming in through the windows.

Its so hard when its dark at 4:30 in the afternoon and you run out of ways to entertain your kids. For yet another day. But remind me of all this in August when its 100F with 80% humidity, 'kay?

2. What is one of your favorite blog posts you've written?
Hmmm...there are a few. I update my "best of" section every few months with new posts. I particularly like the story about my brother falling off the roof. (He's OK, so trust me, its funny.)

3. Where would you love to vacation for a week, just you and your honey?
Hawaii. My first vacation choice would be Europe, but I think I'd like to take the family and we'd probably be gone a bit more than a week. Right now warm beaches are callin' my name. Oh! and frozen drinks with little umbrellas...and warm nights...and...

4. What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
Ohmigod I have so many. Mostly they're little things, but if I had to pick only one, I'd tell you that I hate people who act like they know everything. Its cool to admit you don't know something and you're really not impressing anybody pretending that you are such an expert. People like that usually just slow down everybody else.

5. Would you change any regrets of your past, or keep them as a part of who you are today?
I kinda wish I would have gone to a better college. I got my degree from a UW school and got As and Bs, but I wish someone would have pushed me - just a little. At the time, it was a struggle just to get to college - the paperwork for student loans and scholarships was enough to make me almost say forget it. All the tours and moving in and everything else most kids go through with their parents I did by myself. And I worked full time the last three years I was in college. I kinda wish I didn't have to do that, but then, it really made me appreciative of what I was doing and I know I would be a much different person if I would have had it any other way.

In reality, my hubby & I started dating my freshman year of college, so if I'd have gone away to school we wouldn't be where we are today, which is a pretty good place.

Want ME to interview YOU?

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!"
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the 'em!
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

Okay, I have to agree with #2 - that story about your brother literally makes me chuckle out loud every time I think of it.

Um, okay, (turning my head away and mumbling to myself...) interview me?! Just don't be too hard on me, kay?

V. cool to learn this about you. I also wish someone would've taken an interest in me and pushed me, too. I often wonder...

Great interview!! :) I'd be up for an interview. Hawaii does sound nice right about now. Too cold for me. We are supposed to have snow this weekend.

I love meme's and especially cute ones. I hear you on the longer days and beaches.

Very cute post, with that said:

Great answers! I have the same pet peeve and much prefer when people are honest if they don't know - if it's customer service situation, I'm cool if you just go find out the right answer instead of bluffing, and if it's life stuff, I'd prefer a hug to pretending like you understand or know something you don't. Mmm, Hawaii. Summer. Anything warm. Been so cold here, too.

Oh, interview me. I did this awhile ago, but love to be interviewed - it helps when I can't make my brain think of stuff to write about.
