Lake Delton is missing

I haven't posted anything about the rains from last weekend that have devestated so much of the Midwest, but below are some links to short videos, demonstrating just how catastrophic this weather was to so much of Wisconsin.

You may not be familiar with the Wisconsin Dells if you're not from this area, but its a HUGE tourist destination. Very big for families. Its rather ironic, that flooding can lead to the loss of a lake, and destruction of homes on that lake, but that's just what happened. Only a small strip of land separated Lake Delton from the Wisconsin River, and once the waters breached that strip of land, all of the Lake emptied out into the River, taking homes with it.

Watch the homes float away
TRULY astonishing!

There are many more videos detailing the destruction on the site these links take you to...and we're due to get more rain.

Say a prayer for all the families affected by this rain in the Midwest - WI was not the only state affected!

Ouch. That really sucks. Hopefully the weather will tame out some.

Colleen, I have seen the coverage on the news. We actually watch closely in St Louis because the way the river flows, it comes our way next- I was away at college during flood of '93, but know many that were affected.

Thanks for your comment and for stopping by- if my husband knew I sent a pic of my rack- oh, I don't even know! You're right, they just wouldn't understand- it'll be our secret!
