When we go out to eat, I save the crayons from the kids' meals and take them home. Most times, if they come pre-packaged, the restaurant staff will throw used ones out rather than try to pawn them off on kids who see others with brand new ones. (At least that's what we used to do when I worked in restaurants in college. The argument just wasn't worth it.)
I usually have a few crayons in my purse in case we end up at a place that doesn't offer them, and they replace the crayons in our box at home that my kids break at an olympic pace.
Looking through them the other day, I was surprised at our unique collection. Have you got a good Mom tip?

Hooters has crayons? That must mean they have a kids' menu. Good grief!!!
My first thought as well, Hooters crayons. Go figure. For my contribution, I chose colourful flags flying on a Coastal BC ferry. I invite you to come see. -- Margy
Awww, crayons! It's been ages since I've seen those!
I think what you do is clever! (...hooters? crayons?)
Great creative idea for this week's theme! You should win "site of the week" for next week ;) This is the best pic I've seen today! We save crayons from restaurants too but don't have quite the collection that you do yet ;)
BTW, thanks for your tip on how to make the ♥~I appreciate it :)
How creative! Such a cool colorful photo and such a good idea. Kudo's.

(And thanks for dropping by and commenting. I loved the comment about 'Where are the frogs and turtles?' Next time make sure you go check out the baby turtles and frogs in different posts if you didn't have time to this visit. Just use the labels to find them. One of the most recent turtle posts is about the small turtles from the pond that we have in an aquarium. Sometime next week I will likely have a short video of feeding the turtles in the pond.)
I always have crayons in my bag too. Porgie is OBSESSED with coloring.
I also always carry a Blue's Clues notebook for her to scribble in.
Taco Bell gives out crayons? GAH.
I just loaded up my purse with the crayons from Outback Steakhouse!
=)
Great take on this week's theme. We don't have kids so we tend not to get the crayons which is a huge shame!
I love how you have some Hooters crayons in there. That's hilarious.
I also like to keep crayons in my purse, but one thing I try to always have on hand are bendy straws. Some restaurants don't supply them and I like to avoid having my kid pick up her own drink to get a sip. If she has a bendy straw, she can just lean into the table. It reduces the chances of spills (or at least I think it does).
Great photo! Love the Hooters crayons!
I love the picture of the crayons!!!!!
You could...glue them on a picture frame...give them as treats in the goodie bags at the birthday party...melt them into a candle.. donate them to the hursery at church (some people DO go to church, I hear...) and now I'm too tired to think of any more uses...
LOVE your pictures- crap, I need to grab a camera and start clicking.
Hooters...Love it!!!! =)
Hooters...Love it!!!! =)
My purse is a lot like like yours - full of those crayons... I bring along a bag of tiny toys/coloring books for each child when we enter a restaurant... helps keeps me sane!
C~
Super cute photo of the crayons. Aren't you "little Miss Creative"!!!!
And I love the photo with the toy bucket - yep, my kids do the same things - dump out the toys and sit in the buckets. Dorks.

Love the Hooters crayon! I mean if you are going to start 'em eating some darn good wings, get 'em going when they are young!
Blessings...
I've made a decision. You need to make a t-shirt with the crayon picture- use it as a give away on your blog, and LET ME WIN!!
:-)
I do the same thing! Got to a point where I've got a small baggie of crayons stashed in each diaper bag, and have, like you, replaced a few at home.
Good mom tip? hmmm....you know those little travel packs of wipes that come with a case of wipes you buy at Costco or wherever? I throw those in the glove-box of our cars. As well as stashing napkins from drive-through in there as well for messes, etc.
That's a fairly impressive collection.
I do the same thing but I carry the crayons in a little travel container for soap bars. It protects them from breaking and protects my purse in case they melt.
