I'm a little teapot

So I've started writing posts lately that aren't about my kids only to stop and pitch them halfway through.

I just don't feel like I have an opinion, one way or another, about anything lately.

(Except Octomom. That bitch is crazy.)

Hub's training schedule with the new job has been harsh, leaving next to no time for him to be with the family. Its somehow worse than his old schedule when we worked completely opposite hours and we never saw each other. I guess then I had a schedule, a routine...and I was used to it.

This is back and forth and sideways.

Then flip it over, smack it and send it on its way.

And we're not ready to sell our house and I'm sick of working on it. Its a huge mess and I have absolutely zero motivation to do anything about it.

I've been reading a lot, and trying to play with the boys a bit more. We had a 30 minute Moon Sand party yesterday afternoon just before dinner. That stuff? Is the devil. Gets EVERYWHERE. And you can't wash it off. I mean, you can, but then you can't wash it down the drain. After Nick washed his hands I walked into the bathroom to find a sparkly blue sink. (My cousin gave them glittery Moon Sand. Just wait till she has kids! BWA-HA-HA-HA!)

(Oh, and Nick taught Will to say 'teapot' and nothing pleases Nick more than to have Will say it out of the blue. I'll hear them whispering in the cart at the grocery store or in the back seat on the way to the Y and know that next I'll hear Will shouting 'TEAPOT!!!')

So my life feels a bit like scrambled eggs right now. Not necessarily bad, but kinda messy and after so long I'd just like something else, you know? Like an omlet, or an egg sandwich, or...a steak.

So...no happy goofy pictures today. No kids with messy faces, no silly videos. Just me...in my sweatpants.

You, in your sweatpants . . . well, where's the pic?

I'm thinking random shouts of teapot is a lot better than other words he could should (should I list them here?)

*note to self--avoid Moon Sand*

Thank you for letting me know of the evils of Moon Sand. I think you need a lonnnnnng bubble bath with a good book. It will get better - it always does.

Hey, sorry to hear you're all scrambled right now. I hope you have a pleasant, calm, non-scrambled weekend!

C,

I love you in sweatpants. Sweatpants are the best! I'm sorry you've got scrambled eggs for a life these days. You know I've been where you are. It'll come together -- just keep trusting and hang in there. The big man upstairs has a plan for your family and HE never fails us.

The in between, not knowing part is the worst. Allow yourself a day to take a break. Allow yourself time to do something nice for yourself, even if it's something free like soaking in the tub or taking a nap. And the one thing I know about you is that you've got your priorities in order. You're a wonderful wife and om and friend and daughter -- you are definitely an inspiration. As long as you keep doing the next right thing, the rest will fall in to place.

And yes, that octomom is a flippin' whackjob. Something definitely not right there.

Hugs!

As a mom I also often feel that it would be nice to write about something other than my son ... easier said than done. We just seem to gravitate that way, don't we? OMG do mothers have lives?

We have some Moon Sand too. I have a couple of trays that I put it in and then I only let the girls play with the kitchen table. They have a tub of plastic animals/giraffes and I have to say it is a GREAT rainy day time killer, however no matter what you do, the Moon Sand gets everywhere and well that sucks.

I applaud you for knowing when to roll with it.
