For instance, he will wash and dry laundry all the day long but can't (or won't, I'm not sure that it matters) sit and fold it or put it away.
I have a secret confession: I actually like to fold laundry.
Yes, yes...sick. I know.
But think of it - I can sit on my fat duff and watch TV and feel good that I'm also getting work done.
I can tell the kids to go and play - "Mommy's busy!"
I can ask Hubby to get me things. "Hon, get me a soda, would you? I'm working on folding all this laundry!"
I can sit on the couch, a veritable island in the sea of chaos that is my life, and match socks while observing from a distance my kids reading a book together, or (let's be honest) fighting over a broken Happy Meal toy.
But there's something beautiful about that...getting the chance to watch them. Whether they're fighting or getting along, I get a chance to see my kids' real personalities. I can see that somehow, we've impressed upon the Nick the importance of being patient with his brother. We've instilled a love of reading in them both, to the point that there are always books left laying about with the toys. They've both got these imaginations that leave me laughing.
And the chance to have a moment to be happy for those small things AND have clean undies? Is priceless.

If you come and visit I will gladly give you lots of 'happy time' and deliver drinks/snacks to the couch for you.
Yes, yes, yes! I LOOOOOVE folding laundry too! Let's have a laundry party! (at my house)
I have to agree with WeaselMomma.
OMG my dining table looks just like that! But my dh won't even wash and dry it..lol! I am not sure I want him to. But he does put his clothes away and I do mine and ds' clothes. great blog by the way. I found you through thousand words thursday. this is my first time participating, come on over and check it out if you want to. God Bless You!
I wish I could say I loved to fold laundry. I'm sort of the "doing the laundry, dumping the clean clothes on the floor, and then sorting them out on an as needed basis kind of girl." Rinse. Repeat.
I do cherish the moment of quiet observation of my kiddos to though.
I do not love to fold laundry. And so it piles up on top of our dryer until my husband can't take it any longer. And then he folds it. And we all win.
I'm like you--it's one of the rare chores I can do while watching TV.
i detest laundry!! lol washing, drying, folding, it matters not, i detest it all!!
My husband does laundry, lots of laundry, and most of the time we dry a lot of it on the radiators. Trouble is when he comes to put more stuff on there when that lot is dry he just dumps the dry stuff on the nearest horizontal surface and walks away and forgets about it.
Fun picture!!
Wish I had that problem!!
We do our laundry in front of the TV too, just makes it easier to accomplish, we have CRAZY amounts of clothes...yikes.
I thought I was the only one who liked to fold the laundry.
The undies are clean most of the time, please sniff them to see if I missed a pair.
Love W00BIE
Yup. Everybody needs clean undies. If they wear 'em.
I love folding laundry, too. And the kid is crazy about books, too. We're like, TWINS!
Yep, looks like that photo could have been taken at my house!
I put clothes away today that I folded on Tuesday. Nevermind I worked a whole 24 hour shift on call AT the hospital on Wed. Then I cam home to finish what I started two days before. Grrrr. :-)
I try and do one load a day to keep up! That means wash fold and put away.
Um will you come fold my laundry?? There's plenty here, really I don't mind at all. :)
I love folding laundry while watching Greys anatomy. Beats doing many other chores like actual tyding. I am also a working mom - great to meet you.
I am not a big fan of laundry as a whole and my husband doesn't touch the stuff. So, I do it as early in my day as possible to get it out of the way.
You can fold my laundry anytime! Not only do I hate folding--I'm incapable of doing it correctly!
Can you please come and fold my laundry too? :)
I like to fold laundry too but I can't stand putting it away. Odd I know. I too understand the "moms busy" comment. It's very relaxing but looks like we are working SO hard!
